Homeschooling?

So Noah is now 4 years old and is attending preschool on a very part time basis.  About six hours per week.  For various reasons, this experience has made me think that we may want to start homeschooling him.  I have friends whose children are in classrooms 28 and up.  He seems to have a hard time "focusing" on activities at preschool according to the teacher.  I am unsure if this is because of some issue he has, if he is just excited about being with the other kids, or if he is just bored with playing with blocks and painting.

This is not a decision I am taking lightly.  I am weighing the pros and cons and am reading everything that I can get my hands on about the subject.  Mostly I want to do what is best for him.  I know this is not a homeschooling blog per se, but would welcome any thoughts that you may have on the subject, especially if you have experience in homeschooling your own kids.
