Away Too Long, or How Blogging is Like Journaling

So I pulled up my blog and realized that I have not written here in over two years.  It reminded me of the stacks of half written journals that I have written in fits and starts, and my ultimate failure at both.  This blog is supposed to be about simple living, but when you are an SAHM, grad student, freelance writer and all around crazy person, life is not that simple.

I write for other people so it is not always easy to remember to write for myself.  And let's be honest, sometimes I just don't feel like I have anything all that important to say.  So where do I start?  Let's take a look back over the last couple of years...

Right about the time I stopped writing, I started going back to get my master's degree in Psychology.  I think that there is a relationship there.  I am still in school but am almost done for the summer so there is some hope that I will have some time to write.  My goal is to get a job in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology so that I can put my education to good use.

I have been doing some homeschooling with the bug.  However, we have slowed down on this some as it would appear that we are going to be sending him to a great little school next year.  We go to visit it tomorrow.  My hope is that they can get him interested in being a reader, because I am failing miserably in this area.

I have started freelance writing again.  Mostly for fun, but a little to get some money in my pocket.  There is a tuition for the school that we want to send the little man to, and I would like to pick up some of that cost if I can.  I just contributed to a new blog that will be launching soon.  I will be sure to share the link here.

So those are some of my many excuses.  I am going to try to do better.  I have big goals and dreams that I want to accomplish and I look forward to sharing some of my triumphs here.
